Well, OK that was the first round of trials and questions about the torch operation.

There is a little red indicator light on the front of the main control console labeled “HGT”, what is it doing when you try to start the torch, is it on steady, off or blinking?  This is the indicator that shows if current flowing thru the torch.  Under normal operation, it would be on steady as the torch is heating up and under steady state control, it would be blinking.  Let me know what that’s doing please.

Then please remove the HGT, but before removal note position of torch and position of nozzle outlet relative to the roller before removal.  Then remove nozzle from the end of the HGT by loosening the 11/16” hex nut on the tube fitting.  Be cautious of the thermocouple wire.  Then look inside the torch outlet fitting, is it clear or is it fully or partially blocked with debris?  You probably have a failed torch if it is blocked.

I believe Mike suggested that you buy one or 2 torches and have them available as in the laboratory environment, starting, running for short periods of time, shutting down, etc. … this typically shortens the torch life.  As we are on the other side of the earth, we can’t get you one overnight so you probably need to stock a few.

If it is bad, we will need the hours on it together with the torch returned to us.  At that point, we will evaluate it to be sure there was no misuse, etc. (I’m sure there wasn’t), and then issue a credit for the unused hours out of 100 warranted hours.  This credit can be applied to future torch purchases but not to previous torch purchases.  So, if you can get us a PO for say 2 torches, we will get them out right away and to you.  Change the bad one out to prove it was the torch.  Then simply, return to us with the usage document.  Credit will be issued.  This is an expendable item and it is inevitable that a torch will fail when you most need to run the machine.  It is a critical spare to have on hand.
